"We, Peoples of the World, demand that fundamental rights, which continue to be denied to billions of people, be respected and that dignity be restored to each member of the Community of Mankind in conformity with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights which you have all agreed to respect.
We, Peoples of the World, know that there are solutions. Never before have there been so many means to make these solutions work. This is why we ask that the role and the functioning of international organisations be reinforced and improved, especially those of the United Nations, so that globalisation, which should be an opportunity for all, ceases to benefit only a small number, while constituting for others a source of death, fear, misery and exclusion resulting in despair, revolt and violence.
We, Peoples of the World, solemnly call upon you as Head of State to ask the General Secretary of the United Nations, in conformity with Article 20 of the Charter, to convene an Extraordinary General Meeting whose objective will be to implement measures to ensure that the necessary reforms are undertaken so as to put an end to the most blatant injustices, and this in respect of the sovereignty of each People.
Ladies and Gentlemen, Heads of States, every day more people will sign this Appeal to convince you of the need to act to ensure that the rights of all human beings come before economic interests. Globalisation can become an asset for the development and the fulfilment of People everywhere. We are counting on you !"
